Sports facilities other than soccer (football) are available for tourists. Activities such as rugby, bowls, tennis, mini golf (put put), tenpin bowling, squash, hockey, pool, swimming, cricket, and darts are also available.
As Rustenburg is situated in the 'bushfeld', plenty of hunting possibilities also exist. Hunters Rest is only 12km from Rustenburg. The Magaliesberg Mountain Range offers mountain climbing, canopy tours, and other activities, which can be arranged through Magaliesberg Canopy Tours.
Rustenburg was a hotspot during the Anglo-Boer War in South Africa, so British forts, war graves and battlegrounds may also be of interest to visitors. Saulspoort, one of the oldest Dutch Reformed mission stations north of the Vaal River, can be found to the north of Rustenburg.
