Transport In and Around Rustenburg
The South African authorities are planning to have an extensive transport system in place throughout South Africa well in time for the World Cup.
Transport within Rustenburg to the stadium on match days is to be provided free of charge. Six large, free 'Park & Rides' will offer parking where spectators can park in secure venues and be transported free-of-charge to and from the games.
There will be an extensive network of taxis, coaches, bus and mini buses in commission throughout the World Cup.
The bullet train will link Johannesburg International Airport with Sandton. A special train service is also planned between Pretoria and Rustenburg.
We understand that selected domestic airports in South Africa will be granted temporary international status to assist with the high volume of visitors.
